ESA Announces Increase in Game-Related Programs 1

Yesterday the U.S. Entertainment Software Association announced an increase in videogame-related degrees.

According to the ESA, there are now 385 U.S. universities and colleges that offer a program related to videogame design. This number is bigger than last year’s report, showing an emerging interest in gaming careers.

While many of the states offer these programs, California has the most with 72 different post-secondary schools housing these types of degrees.

This increase also coincides with gaming’s popularity. According to ESA president Michael Gallagher, “Videogames are the fastest growing, most dynamic form of entertainment in the world today.”
