EVE Online‘s next big expansion, Cradle of War, is coming this summer, featuring a dedicated Military Campaign system.
War is escalating across New Eden as Fenris Creations unveils their next expansion for EVE Online – Cradle of War. Launching on June 9, this expansion will begin the three-part Theatres of War saga and feature a new gameplay system dedicated to representing large-scale empire warfare – Military Campaigns. Players will also get to see several new ships, a new non-PVP starter system for new players to start out in, and take part in Epic Arc Missions to relive battles long past.

EVE Online is a 23-year-old game that is still beloved by many, being one of the greatest MMOs to offer players, known in-game as capsuleers, the freedom to explore a massive sci-fi universe with 7,800 star systems and several different playable archetypes across PVE and PVP content.
Though the factions of EVE have known war for real-world decades, Cradle of War is stepping it up a notch with the Military Campaign system. This system represents players’ involvement in the war effort through a series of objectives, which can be participated in by any character type from combat pilots to explorers. The Theatres of War saga is driven by how players interact with the Military Campaigns system, so the future of the arc is entirely in the hands of capsuleers.
EVE Online’s Creative Director, Bergur Finnbogason, said: “Conflict in EVE has always been driven by players, but now its impact drives the next level of warfare. Military campaigns connect player actions into persistent, multi-front wars. Players still decide how conflict unfolds, but now those decisions shape the future of the empires.”

Those looking to relive past wars in the world of EVE Online can take part in new Epic Arc Missions, which are four simulated historical battles meant to evoke the identity of each faction, their enemies, and ideals. The battles covered are the Caldari Prime Breakout, Battle of Pator, Liberation of Intaki, and Golgothan Fields, where many players can fight alongside a capital ship for the first time.
There are also many other features for capsuleers to look forward to in EVE Online: Cradle of War.
- New Ships
- Eight new ships of which we know:
- New Tech II Command Carriers that anchor fleet operations, providing unmatched boosts and utility while influencing the outcome of critical battles. Four are confirmed to be arriving in Cradle of War.
- New Navy Destroyers that are fast to skill into and effective in coordinated fleets.
- Eight new ships of which we know:
- New Starter System
- A new non-PvP starter region where rookie capsuleers can learn the ropes, train alongside other new pilots, and begin making an impact on New Eden from day one before venturing into the wider security regions of space.
- Titles and Achievements
- A new system that tracks player activity across New Eden. Completing Achievements unlocks Titles that represent reputation, playstyle, and accomplishment. Titles are visible across interactions, allowing players to showcase their identity and progression.

EVE Online: Cradle of War will release on June 9. For future and returning capsuleers, players can learn more about the expansion on EVE News and play the game on PC via the official website, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
