Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Vaentia Gets Data Mined, Spoilers and Other Information Leaked 1

The Japanese version of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia released early in Japan just hours ago and data miners were quick to leak all the secrets they could find about the upcoming game.

In a leak from Serenesforest, a popular Fire Emblem fansite, general data from the game is already being passed around, making its way to other websites. Character growth rates were one of the first pieces leaked, revealing that changes have been made between the original and the remake. Maximum stats for most of the game’s cast are increased, making everyone more durable and powerful than in the original. Spell lists and their upgrades were also provided by the leak. Support conversations, a feature not found in the original Famicom version, are now definitively confirmed along with who each character can support. Portrait art of all playable portraits got uploaded along with some NPC and enemy portraits, showing off any new redesigns for characters. The game’s soundtrack has been uploaded as well. Spoilers to the game’s plot changes were also made public, including a new sixth chapter, taking place after the events of the main game.

One the most interesting pieces of information is that Corrin, the default protagonist of Fire Emblem Fates is available as a usable amiibo character, offering both male and female options. This highly suggests that Nintendo intends to release two variations of the amiibo, one male and one female.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia launches on April 20, 2017 in Japan and May 19, 2017 in America and Europe, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is a full remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, a Japanese only title that released on the Famicom in 1992. Fire Emblem Echoes follows dual protagonists Alm and Celica, two childhood friends fighting in a war between two nations on the continent of Valentia. Fire Emblem Echoes reintroduces the unique elements found in Gaiden such as town and dungeon exploration. The remake introduces new characters that didn’t exist in the original as well as a new prologue that expands on the childhood of Alm and Celica.
