Fortnite players are putting their filmmaking skills to the ultimate test with the game’s new contest. Players are to direct a superhero flick about Fortnite Season 4 using the replay system and in-game movie set.
Each entry will be judged based on creativity, mastery, and “Fortnite-ness.” Contestants should tell their story in either a creative or innovative way for the first category. Meanwhile, mastery involves the use of the reply system and all the tools it has to offer. As for “Fortnite-ness,” the film should capture the tone of the game.
The submissions have to be a video that is no longer than five minutes and at least a minute long. Only personal Fortnite gameplay is allowed, and if players are thinking about putting music in their entry, then royalty free audio should be used. Voice-over narrative and on-screen text cannot be featured in the film, and all submissions must have a title with the hashtag #FortniteBlockbuster.
To enter the contest, players should upload their video to YouTube and make it searchable and publically visible. They should also email [email protected] along with the subject line #FortniteBlockbuster. Within the email, the full name of the contestant is needed, as well as their Epic ID.
The contest will end on July 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET, and the winners will be announced on July 24. One grand prize winner will get their film played at Fortnite’s Risky Reels, have the title of their film shown on the marquee, 25,000 V-Bucks, and a poster for their film shown in the game. Five finalists will get 10,000 V-Bucks.
