Marvel’s first family will be coming to the world’s most famous battle royale game. Fortnite drops a 9-second teaser for its upcoming collab with Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, as the film is set to release on July 25th, 2025. While Epic Games has not officially set a release date, players can expect to see the skins populate on the Item Shop within the week—in time for the movie release. Based on last week’s leaked information, some of the cosmetic details have generally been revealed.
The 9-second teaser was posted on Fortnite‘s X account this morning at 9:00 am, showing off each Fantastic Four: First Steps member (Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Human Torch) from behind. It was not simply a sweeping shot of them from behind; the quick teaser showed each of them in their element. Sue using her barrier powers, Reed working through equations on a blackboard, Johnny flaming on, and Ben smashing his fists together. All of which is backed by some awesome surfing saxophone music!
According to reliable Fortnite insider ShiinaBR on X, each Fantastic Four: First Steps member will receive their own Fortnite skins in the upcoming update. So far, Epic Games has not released any specific details yet, or prices for the skins. But based on previous bundles, this could cost players somewhere around 3,000 V-Bucks (or potentially 1,500 V-Bucks for each individual character). Here are the details of all the cosmetics expected with each skin:
- Reed Richards will have an exclusive skin, backpack, and glider. His skin will feature a unique style, and “Fantastic Calculations” shows a different animation when equipped with the Reed Richards outfit.
- Susan Storm will come with an exclusive skin, backpack, emote, and pickaxe. Invisible Woman’s psionic orbs will display a different style when used with Sue Storm’s outfit.
- Johnny Storm will have a skin, pickaxe, backpack, and emoticon. Human Torch’s flames will show a different look when equipped with the Johnny Storm outfit.
- The Thing will have a skin, a pickaxe, a backpack, and a spray.
Data miners also found references to four pairs of Nike shoes that are linked to the characters, all of which are based on existing real-world kicks. This would not be the first time the battle royale and Nike laced up their shoes together. Here is a list of the supposed Nike shoes the first Marvel family could be wearing in Fortnite’s latest update:
- Reed Richards – Harbor Blue Air Max 90s
- Sue Storm – Air Force 1s with a blue swoosh
- Johnny Storm -Red and orange Air Max 95s
- The Thing – Orange Dunks
In case you missed it, this is not The Fantastic Four’s first appearance in Fortnite! They last appeared as part of the second Fortnite Marvel season. However, that season was focused more on Doctor Doom—the family’s iconic main villain. While we did not get the superheroes as skins, they were on the map. That version of Doom had already defeated the Fantastic Four before arriving in the game.
The easter eggs were fairly savage in and around Doom’s POI. The throne that triggered the Doom boss fight was visibly made out of the Thing. Mr Fantastic was wrapped into one big ball, encased in a glass display. A chair in a display case was labelled Sue. The Human Torch appeared as the fire in Doom’s fireplace. But now, the iconic Marvel family will get to shine in this upcoming update!
These Fantastic Four: First Steps skins are the latest superhero skins to be added to the game. On July 10th, there was the Superman skin that came to the game—inspired by the new James Gunn DC film starring David Corenswet. Previous additions included Deadpool, Black Panther, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Blade, Harley Quinn, Batman, and Spider-Man. With Fantastic Four: First Steps expected to center its story about the characters building a rocket and going to space, this could go hand-in-hand with Fortnite’s Rocket Launch Event happening on July 25 at 2:00 pm.
