Gal Gadot Reveals Shocking Truths Post-Wonder Woman 3 Cancellation

The Honest Truth Revealed

Gal Gadot Looks To The Future As Wonder Woman 3 Is Axed 1

Gal Gadot discussed her future plans following the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3, with some shocking details about working on one of DC’s movie sets.

Gal Gadot has been in the news recently with the big announcement that Wonder Woman 3 has been cancelled, following the final decisions made by the new heads of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), James Gunn and Peter Safran. While discussing her future plans in a number of interviews, she also revealed some shocking truths about the Joss Whedon-led Justice League film, which was set up after Zack Snyder stepped down from the project.

Gal Gadot has been such an icon since her debut as the titular Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman, along with her consistent appearances in the Fast & Furious saga. Back in December 2022, she was thrilled to hear that Wonder Woman 3 could become a reality. However, Gunn addressed the cancellation almost immediately on Twitter, stating that “building the next 10 years of story” at DC “takes time”. He went on to say that restructuring and rebuilding the DC cinematic universe would be a long but highly creative process.

Gal Gadot Sweetly Dodges Question About Her Future In Dcu As Wonder Woman 001

He left off by saying that “We are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way”, but reassured these fans that “everything we do is done in the service of the STORY & in the service of the DC CHARACTERS we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives”. This was an interesting move following her cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, but I guess it was more of a take it with a grain of salt moment for the overarching DC film universe. This news was almost as bad as Henry Cavill’s cameo in Black Adam, which teased his return as Superman, only to be later squashed as an idea.

Gal Gadot shared that she felt “empowered” by the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 because now she does not have “to sit still at home and just wait for the next offer.” She explained that “I’m not only going to do my own projects, I’m going to work as an actress-for-hire still.” She continued that she would be taking on more projects that she was “passionate” about.

In a recent interview, Gal Gadot was asked more about the details she spoke with Elle Magazine. More specifically, she spoke about how the Justice League set with Whedon made her feel dizzy and infuriated. She talked more about the verbal abuses thrown at her by Whedon and how she immediately spoke to the heads of Warner Brothers about the situation.

She said, “I just did what I felt like I had to do. And it was to tell people that it’s not okay.” She continued to speculate what she would have done if she were a man but opted to say the whole thing was resolved in the moment or near the time of the incident and was willing to move on. A true hero move right there!

While Gal Gadot will not be returning as one of her most recognizable characters, she has returned as one of my favourite characters in the Fast & Furious saga. If you haven’t had a chance to see Fast X, well, spoiler alert! She is back as Giselle! Unless she is a twin or something… never really knowing what the story of this franchise is. All in all, it looks like she will be taking on more meaningful and personal work in her future.
