Genshin Impact 3.8 Release Date and Details

miHoYo has provided a wealth of details on Genshin Impact’s 3.8 update, “Secret Summer Paradise,” including a release date and a look at the new banners.

The new banners for Genshin Impact 3.8 don’t include any new characters but instead focus on returning ones. Phase 1 will bring back Cryo 5-Star Eula and Pyro 5-Star Klee. Both Phase 1 banners will be available from Wednesday, July 5 to Tuesday, July 25.

After that, the Phase 2 banners kick in and will see the return of Hydro 5-STar Kokomi and Anemo 5-Star Wanderer (Scaramouche). These banners will be available from Tuesday, July 25, until Tuesday, August 5, which is around the time of the expected 4.0 update.

As for new content in the new update, there’s a lot. The main highlight is a brand-new area in Teyvat called Veluriyam Mirage. As a press releases states

“Players may fully explore the Mirage with two open-world game modes: the Choo-Choo Cart that ferries passengers throughout the area with exciting roller-coastering experiences, or the Preprint mode that teleports people into a two-dimensional world to unlock hidden puzzles and treasures. As players explore this area, they can collect Joyeux Vouchers to redeem various rewards, including Kaeya’s new outfit.”

There are also four summer special events that you can partake in across the area. “Spino Blaster” is a water cannon shooting game, “Dance of Flashing Thought” provides combat challenges with different features, “Sojourns of the Barking Fox” lets you control said fox in an aerial speed race, and “Bing-Bang Finchball” is a revamped shuffle-board game.

In addition to all of the 3.8 content, miHoYo also showed off roughly one minute of footage for the underwater area of Fontaine, the Nation of Justice. This area won’t be added to the game until later this year, but the footage gives a first look at the underwater urban area, as well as the creatures and environment.
