Huge Genshin Impact Milestone Leads To Real Life Event On January 13

Impactful Performance

Genshin Impact Version 2.0 Coming July 21 2

Due to a successful turnout of over 3 million players, Genshin Impact‘s Alps Waypoint Lighting Ceremony will happen on January 13th.

The exciting event will cap off the final stage of the ‘Enchanting Journey of Snow and Stars’ event that saw over 3 million in-game participants. The event that takes place in the snowy alps can be watched from home, so fans don’t have to brave the weather to participate. miHoYo even released an exciting teaser trailer to showcase the event:

The ceremony is located in Val Thorens, Europe’s highest ski resort. The most striking feature of the event will be the illumination of the IRL teleport waystone that looks as though it was plucked right out of Mondstadt. A performance by the renowned Orchestre Symphonique Confluences out of Lyon, France will headline the event by playing fan-favourite arrangements that can be heard throughout the game.

Wishes that 300,000 players have made will also be sent to the top of the alps, as the event couldn’t have happened without the strong showing of support from fans. Although Genshin’s goal was to have over one million players take place in the event, that milestone was abruptly shattered by an impressive two million players. The one-of-a-kind light show will take place on January 13th, and fans can expect a celebration of everything Genshin Impact to send off the current snowy-themed event.

The ceremony is also in celebration of the first Genshin Impact in-game snowy mountain range, Dragonspine, as the celebration marks the first anniversary since the Matterhorn-inspired region launched. There are numerous ways to take part in the music celebration.

The Official Genshin Youtube Channel will broadcast the event on January 13, at 6pm EST followed promptly by a replay for those who may have missed it, while the Official Twitch Channel for Genshin Impact will also stream the event live, at 5 pm EST on the same day.
