A new teaser has dropped for Good Fortune, the upcoming comedy directed by Aziz Ansari, offering a first look at Keanu Reeves as Ansari’s unlikely guardian angel.
After portraying demonic roles in films like The Devil’s Advocate and Constantine, Reeves trades horns for wings in Good Fortune, where he stars as a down-on-his-luck, low-budget guardian angel. The teaser, released today by Lionsgate Movies, highlights the film’s offbeat tone and ensemble cast, giving moviegoers a glimpse of the star-studded comedy set to hit theatres later this year.
The trailer opens like many feel-good comedies, with Angel Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) asking, “Martha, is there any way I can have more meaningful duties?” He continues, “I want to guide people; I want to change their lives.” Martha (Sandra Oh) responds that to save a soul, Gabriel must first find one that’s lost.
Cut to Arj (Aziz Ansari), a package delivery driver preparing for his shift. Standing atop a Denny’s, Gabriel spots his chosen soul and wastes no time introducing himself. “Arj, my name is Gabriel and I’m here to save you!” he declares. A stunned Arj replies, “What? Who the f*** are you? How do you know my name?”
Good Fortune features a star-studded cast and comes from Lionsgate Movies. Ansari makes his directorial debut and also serves as producer, alongside executive producers Anthony Katagas, Jonathan McCoy, Christopher Woodrow, Connor DiGregorio and Alan Yang.

Good Fortune stars (thanks IMDb) Keanu Reeves as a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel who meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker Arj and a wealthy venture capitalist, Jeff (Seth Rogen). Good Fortune rounds out its cast with Sandra Oh, Keke Palmer, Stephen McKinley Henderson, with Joe Anoa’i (known as WWE Superstar Roman Reigns).
Lionsgate will premiere Good Fortune in theatres on October 17, 2025.
