The latest devices in the Google Pixel catalogue, the Pixel 8, the Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel Watch 2 have been officially revealed and their release date is surprisingly around the corner.
After a handful of leaks have been released on the internet regarding the new Google Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2, Google has decided to rip the band-aid off today and fully reveal the new devices themselves with a surprisingly soon release date. The phones have been revealed on the official Google Instagram, showing off the new flagship phone in two new shades that can be seen below. The colours appear to be soft rose gold and an off-white, and both are forecasted to be available on October 4.
Besides photos of the new Google Pixel devices, not much else has been revealed about the exciting new devices. The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro do appear to have softer more rounded edges than their predecessor, and the Pixel Watch 2 looks incredibly similar to the original. That’s where official news dries up on the devices, but, noted tech leaker X (formerly Twitter) user Yogesh Brar leaked the specifications of the devices late in July. This is around when the initial leak sprung regarding the latest Pixel devices and the leaked specifications (and post) can be seen below.
The most glaring improvements the Pixel 8 Pro has over the Pixel 7 Pro according to the leak are the upgrades to the chipset from the Google Tensor G2 to the new Google Tensor G3, and the Andriod 14 OS comes equipped in the new device from launch. It’s worth mentioning that although Leaker Brar has been correct about assumptions in the past, the leak should be taken with a grain of salt as it is not an official announcement endorsed by Google.
The Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 are all launching on October 4, and fans can head over to the Google site to check out the official release page.
