Harmonix Crowd Funds to get Rockband 4 on PC 1

Harmonix has turned to the fans and fig to produce the first PC version of the franchise that started back in 2007.

They’re hoping to reach their $1,500,000 goal by April 5, having reached over one hundred thousand already. The PC version will be able available through Steam and will utilize the Steam Workshop to allow users to create turn their own songs into playable content for the game.

The PC version will be compatible with the guitar, drum and microphone controllers and comes with all of the content that the console versions came with. That includes the world tour campaign mode, freestyle guitar solos, 65 songs out of the box, plus 33 if you back them on Fig and the unimaginable wealth of over 1700 songs as DLC. Also included will be mouse and keyboard support for menu navigation as well as tools to author your own songs to be submitted to Harmonix to get it in the game. The PC version will also have all the updates that consoles received up until now and it will continue to receive update support going forward.

Sumo Digital has come on board to help bring the party rock game to the home computer. They’re currently aiming for a fall 2016 release. While they admit hiccups can always impede the development of any game, but with the game already completed, they feel confident they’ll meet this expectation. Also, thanks to Sumo Digital for helping out, Harmonix is still able to continue to produce updates, fixes and songs for the console versions.

If you’d like to support them and get your own copy of the PC version, head over to their fig page.
