Love is a Demon is set to release in just a few months, with a demo dropping during Steam Next Fest!
Love is a Demon is a charming indie romance mystery adventure about the demons of romance and relationships. Developed by studio Fantastic Humans, Love is a Demon explores the love life of main character Ash, as their plan to confess their feelings to their friend Ivy is thrown for a loop after the pair summon a demon. Love is a Demon will be releasing on Steam on July 17, with a demo coming on June 15 for Steam Next Fest.
Players will help Ash during puzzles, dialogue, and story moments, shaping their relationship with their two love interests, Ivy and Luna, after a failed love confession and a demon-summoning ritual. Love is a Demon has multiple endings depending on how you navigate those decisions for Ash, including a “lover profile” at the end that reflects on the player’s personal style of love.
Fantastic Humans took inspiration from games like Life is Strange, Night in the Woods, and Mutazione, with primary game designer Aleksandra Jarosz basing the premise of Love is a Demon around the question, “…how do we deal with love, rejection, and finding ourselves in the middle of all that emotional mess?”
Jarosz has also reflected on how important making Love is a Demon was to her, saying “…creating the game became a journey of self-development for me, and I hope players will find something of their own in this funny, melancholic, and supernatural adventure.”
Love is a Demon is set to fully release on Steam on July 17, with a demo coming ahead of that date on June 15. For those who want to try out this devilishly romantic adventure right away, there is already a demo on itch.io.
