Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be adding new mega evolutions, and a new trailer has just revealed a monstrous Mega Victreebel in a creepy old building.
It appears Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be following its predecessor when it comes to revealing new creatures, as they’ve just launched a new creepy trailer that features two trainers, a creepy old building, and a mysterious sweet scent permeating the air. At the end of the sweet scent was a massive, swollen Mega Victreebel, spewing poison all over the place and crashing through floorboards. The startling trailer can be seen below, showcasing the documentarian’s discovery.
Previously, Legends Arceus adopted a new way of revealing Hisuian variants of existing Pokémon. For Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, viral photos were deployed of Great Tusk and Iron Treads before their official reveal, and Grafaiai got its own reveal trailer alongside Bellibolt. Pokémon Legends: Arceus really hammered these types of reveals home by showing off a ‘mysterious’ video of an undiscovered creature. The video revealed a presentation on an ecological society study, and at the end of the video, Wiglett was revealed. Mega Victreebel has just been revealed similarly, albeit with far more floor-crushing impact.

Before Mega Victreebel took centre stage, Pokémon Legends: Z-A confirmed new mega evolutions by showcasing a trailer that revealed Mega Dragonite in a Pokémon Presents back in July 2025. Since then, rumours and speculation have been running rampant on internet forums with fans trying to figure out upcoming mega evolutions before they’re revealed. Aside from rumours, according to the Pokémon website, Mega Victreebel “has so much acid that even closing its mouth tight isn’t enough to hold it in, so it contains the acid by wrapping its own vines around its throat.”
While rumours continue to run rampant, it appears the Pokémon Company has no problem trickling out information very slowly for the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A title, like it has done with previous titles before it.
