Meta has announced a new initiative for its Meta Glasses, seemingly dropping the Ray-Bans branding in favour of an $80 price decrease, and partnering with Kylie Jenner.
Today, Meta has announced a new initiative for its wearable tech, namely its smart spectacles in collaboration with Ray-Ban. The new initiative sees Meta partner with EssilorLuxottica to introduce Meta Glasses, a brand-free alternative that will cost consumers a hefty price decrease. Meta claims these new frames build on all the technology and features of their previous AI glasses model.
This new EssilorLuxottica line features bold new shapes for Meta frames, striking new colourways, and all models now start at $299 USD (down from $379 USD). Meta has also introduced a collection designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner (called Meta Starfire), which is her first venture into wearable tech. It’s important to note that Meta has not said the Ray-Ban or Oakley models will be discontinued, just that these new models will now be available.

Meta Glasses come in three new designs: the Meta Adventurer is a clean rectangle shape for a timeless, versatile look (available in standard and large), the Meta Fury brings a bold frame that makes a bold statement, and Meta Glasses by Kylie (also called the Starfire), a unique slim oval frame inspired by Jenner’s personal style. Meta has been listening to consumers and has introduced a swath of new colourways with the new designs.
These designs include Classic Black, Classic Tortoise, Racing Green, Linen, Merlot, Mahogany, and Sandstone. Meta Glasses also come with sunglasses variants (polarized included), transition optionality and clear lens options developed by EssilorLuxottica. With 26 distinct styles available, Meta claims any consumer can find a style that suits them.

The new Meta Glasses will be the pioneers of Meta’s new AI-powered by Muse Spark from Day 1. Muse Spark is Meta’s first steps towards what they’re calling “superintelligence” and offers competitive performance in multimodal perception, reasoning, health, and agentic tasks. This functionality is also now available on Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses in the US and Canada, and it will ship with the new Meta Glasses.
Meta Glasses are available starting today, so consumers who were waiting for a price drop can head over to the Meta site and check out the new digs.
