Michael Gambon Has Sadly Died At 82

Michael Gambon, a well-known actor known for his roles as Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter film franchise King George the V in King’s Speech has died at age 82.

Following a bout of pneumonia, the revered actor Michael Gambon passed away at age 82. Publicist Clair Dobbs broke the news, saying “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82.” Gambon was an accomplished actor, serving in many film productions, and television productions. His work has even led him to serve as the iconic voice of The Prophet in The Elder Scrolls Online, reprising the role in subsequent releases until ESO: Blackwood.

The floodgates of support have opened on social media in support of the late actor. The actor responsible for playing Fred Weasley in Harry Potter, James Phelps tweeted “Very sorry to hear about the passing of Michael Gambon. He was, on and off the camera, a legend. Just a little memory of Michael” and proceeded to tell a story of how the late actor helped him prepare for an unrelated project during downtime on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Spencer Morgan has also tweeted in support of the late actor, with a famous quote from Gambon’s role as Dumbledore “RIP Michael Gambon “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” – Albus Dumbledore.” Dambon’s work has led him to win three Olivier Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Baftas over his nearly 60-year career in cinema.

Publicist Clair Dobbs said, “We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love.”
