The Xbox Mobile Gaming Store Is Launching In July

In an interview with Bloomberg at the Bloomberg Technology Summit yesterday, Xbox President Sarah Bond approached the topic of the Xbox Mobile Gaming Store and when fans can expect it to launch. Aside from the confusing remarks regarding the recent Microsoft studio closures, Bond explained, “We’re going to start by bringing our own first-party portfolio to [the Xbox mobile store], so you’re going to see games like Candy Crush show up in that experience, games like Minecraft,” regarding the mobile storefront.
While Microsoft and Xbox have been toying with the prospect of a mobile storefront opening, since the recent forceful action made by governments to make companies like Apple and Google open up their mobile app stores, Xbox may have figured the time to strike is now. While Bond did say “sometime in July,” CGMagazine will keep readers updated on a concrete storefront opening when it happens.
