Monster Hunter Wilds is just over a month away, and on Wednesday, Capcom has announced a second open beta prior to launch featuring a familiar hunt for returning hunters.
Capcom has taken to the internet this Wednesday to announce Monster Hunter Wilds will receive another Open Beta testing period ahead of the title’s official launch on February 28. This is the second open beta test available for fans to take on, with the first successful beta test having concluded in November 2024. The second open beta test adds new content to enjoy, as well as new bonuses for participating, which can be claimed in the full version. The video announcement for the second open beta has been posted by Capcom and it can be seen below.
Capcom says “In response to requests from players who were unable to participate the first time or simply wish to play again, we’ve decided to hold a second open beta test” regarding the second open beta test, as it appears they’re conducting this one to give fans more hands-on time with Monster Hunter Wilds before it officially drops. The second beta test will feature all of the content present in the first open beta test, but will include a returning Monster long-standing hunters will recognize, the Gypceros.
Fans will be able to go head to head with the fearsome Gypceros in the second open beta test period, and other new content playable in the second testing period will be revealed at a later date. Participants in the open beta will receive an Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant and the OBT 2 Item Pack as rewards for showing up this time around.

The second open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds is a two-parter. The first testing period will begin on Fabruary 6 and run until Fabruary 9. The second testing period will open on February 13 and conclude on February 16. It’s worth mentioning shortly after the second betaa test concludes, Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, so the wait will not be long after the beta test concludes.
