On Friday, Warner Bros. games announced details surrounding MultiVersus Season 5, namely that it will be the title’s last season as WB reveals it will shut down servers in May.

Warner Bros. Games has decided to call it a game for MultiVersus after its second launch. With a new post today, Warner Bros. gave information on the upcoming Season 5 update, including what characters are joining the roster, but on top of that, they have made the decision to end the live service aspect of MultiVersus. Season 5 will begin on February 4, 2025, and run through May 30, 2025, and two immediately recognizable characters – DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny – can be fully earned in that time period. After Season 5’s conclusion, all online features will be taken down.

Ahead of the impending live service shutdown, Warner Bros. Games has also decided to stop all microtransactions starting today. All Gleamium purchases will be suspended permanently, but fans who still have the currency can use their stores until May 30. To keep MultiVersus after the Season 5 conclusion, fans have to make sure they follow certain steps detailed in the official ending notice.

Warner Bros. has announced after May 30, fans will no longer be able to download the MultiVersus title from any storefront, but fans can still play the game offline after servers close. All players have to do is update their title during the Season 5 runtime and keep the title updated until the server closing commences.

Warner Bros. explains “After logging in, a local save file will be automatically created connected to your PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store account, allowing you to enjoy the game offline with all earned and purchased content moving forward.​” After May 30, fans will need to keep the title installed, or it will not be accessible.
