Fans of the often terrifying show Black Mirror will be pleased to hear that it is returning for a fifth season.
While no release date has been confirmed, the team behind Black Mirror said that “patience is a virtue, but rest easy knowing there is more Black Mirror on the way.” Black Mirror is a show that heavily critiques modern society and often focuses on the consequences of new technologies. The episodes are set in the near future, or feature an alternative present and are chalk full of dark satire.
The show debuted back in 2011 on British TV’s Channel 4 and the show’s second season came out in February of 2013. Netflix bought the rights to the show in 2014 and released seasons three and four in 2015 and 2017 respectively. The series is critically acclaimed and has won a number of awards including a 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or a Dramatic Special.
