Announced via press release, Razer introduced the Razer Soma Chroma, a wireless RGB gaming chair that brings reactive Razer Chroma RGB lighting together with all-day ergonomic comfort. The first in Razer’s new line of immersive gaming chairs, the Soma Chroma is also Razer’s first RGB gaming chair. It transforms the chair from passive furniture into an active part of the gaming experience built for gamers who demand total immersion.
Every gamer’s setup is a form of self-expression, according to Global Head of Lifestyle Division at Razer, Addie Tan, but he claims the chair (the most vital part) has not kept up with the times. “There are gaming chairs with lights, but lights alone don’t make a chair immersive,” he said, adding, “With Soma, the lighting reacts to what’s happening on screen in real time. That’s not decoration, that’s participation.”
Powering the Razer Soma Chroma are powerful RGB lights that sit on the left and right sides of the chair’s headrest. Through Razer Synapse, the lighting can be tuned across 16.8 million colours, and 10 presets to match any setup or mood. Furthermore, the Razer Chroma RGB Reactive Game Lighting syncs to over 300+ games, responding in real time to the action on screen. Not only that, but a built-In Control Panel keeps everything within reach for quick, seamless adjustments.
But it’s not just immersive lighting that makes the Razer Soma Chroma stand out. It pairs a Built-In Ergonomic Lumbar Arch with a Dual-Density Cold-Cured Foam Seat Cushion for support that holds from the first hour to the last. The contoured lumbar curve gently cradles the lower back and encourages a neutral posture to ease fatigue, while the firm yet plush backrest and seat-base cushions are tuned to relieve pressure points over long periods. This is pinned by a clutter-free single USB-C wire connection from either a wall outlet or a standard power bank, cutting cable clutter without tethering the chair to the desk.
