Humble Games, the publisher behind the Humble Bundle brand, has just revealed new Wizard of Legend 2 and Never Alone 2 trailers as part of today’s Triple-i Initiative showcase.
Never Alone 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed atmospheric puzzle-platform game Never Alone, developed by E-line Media in collaboration with Anchorage, AK-based Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC) and the Alaska Native community.
Players who have played the first game will continue the second game, controlling Nuna and her spirit companion, Fox, as they embark on a new journey in the Alaska wilderness, uncovering a new mystery that will threaten the Iñupiat people. The game can be played either solo or coop, with players needing to work together to navigate the Alaskan wilderness, taking a multitude of puzzles while learning more about Alaska Native people and how they thrived in the land.
Alongside Never Alone 2, Humble Games also revealed a new combat trailer for Wizard of Legend 2, the sequel to rogue-lite dungeon crawler Wizard of Legend. Wizard of Legend 2, developed by Dead Mage, has players traverse the Chalice, mastering new Arcana, experimenting with new spell combinations, and seeking immortality as they return again and again to master the ever-changing rogue-lite challenges of the Chalice. The game can be played solo or up to 4-player coop, featuring new 3D visuals as opposed to the pixel 2D art of the original.
In this new combat trailer, we get to see some of the elemental Arcana that can be used in combat, such as Fire, Lighting, Earth, and Water. Players will be able to mix and max different Arcana to take on various enemies as they progress through the game. The trailer also showcased some cooperative gameplay with a group of players pummeling bosses, highlighting the teamwork aspect needed to succeed at traversing the Chalice.
The original Never Alone has been played by millions worldwide, hailed for its cultural storytelling and inclusive development in video games. The game has also won awards from BAFTA and Peabody, alongside other noteworthy organizations. Never Alone has also been included in renowned museums such as the Smithsonian Institution for its contribution to preserving the Alaska Native culture.
