Nintendo Switch Hits 10 Million In Sales

Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) Review - Another Masterpiece 1

Nintendo has sold 10 million Switch units worldwide.

The gaming giant announced today that they have already sold 10 million Switch consoles, nearly eclipsing Nintendo’s previous console’s—the Wii U—lifetime sales of 13.5 million units.

The Nintendo Switch launched back in March of this year, meaning that the console has sold roughly one million units per month since its debut in order to reach the impressive 10 million in sales. These numbers come directly from Nintendo’s internal estimates.

In comparison, Sony’s PlayStation 4 took ten months to hit the same numbers when it launched back in 2014.

Since launch, Nintendo has ramped up production of the Switch in order to meet the seemingly insatiable demand of the hybrid console, with games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey leading the charge. In-fact, Super Mario Odyssey has already sold an impressive 5 million units since its launch back in October.
