Nvidia has announced two boosted GPUs based on its last year released RTX 30 series, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti.
Both cards are set to launch this June with the 3080 TI launching first on June 3rd starting at $1,199 USD. Meanwhile, the RTX 3070 Ti will release a week later on June 10th, starting at $599 USD. Nvidia claims that the RTX 3080 Ti is two times faster than the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and one and a half times faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti at 4K.
The RTX 3080 TI has an identical design and ports to the RTX 3080 but delivers 20 percent more VRAM for a total of 12 GB of GDDR6X. Check out how the GPU performers while running DOOM Eternal at 4K with ray tracing on.
“With RTX such a huge success, gamers, and creators will be thrilled with the performance and features the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti offers,” said Senior Vice President of the GeForce business unit at Nvidia, Jeff Fisher. “As the new flagship to the RTX family, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is the ultimate upgrade for GPU enthusiasts of any generation.”
As for the RTX 3070 Ti, the GPU delivers one and a half times more performance than the RTX 2070 Super and two times the frames per second over the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. The RTX 3070 Ti will come with 8GB of GDDR6X memory, the upgrade to GDDR6X is the only difference between the GPU and the RTX 3070.
Both cards are powered the Nvidia Ampere architecture, Nvidia claims that the RTX 3080 Ti will deliver a leap in performance and fidelity with features like ray tracing. While both cards reach the RTX 3090 in some aspects like power requirement, it still doesn’t even approach the 3090’s 24 GB of GDDR6x memory, which is only $300 more than the 3080 Ti.
If you’re able to get your hand on them, the RTX 3080 Ti is launching on June 3rd and the RTX 3070 Ti launches a little later on June 10th.
