With the new PGA Tour season ramping up, 2K Sports has announced its selections for the cover athletes of the upcoming PGA Tour 2K25 game. As expected, golf legend Tiger Woods (both in the virtual and real-life sense) returns to grace the cover. He is joined by Max Homa, making his video game debut, and 2022 U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick.
For the first time in a PGA Tour 2K, the season’s Major Championships (U.S. Open Championship, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship) are to be available for players to take on, and see if they can best the toughest courses in golf. All together, 27 different courses will be available to play on at launch, giving players plenty of variety to test their skills.
Additionally, a brand new swing system has been developed for PGA Tour 2K25 called EvoSwing. EvoSwing aims for the most real feel you can get swinging a golf club while playing the game. With new ball flight paths, ball roll physics, shot types, and more, players will be able to take the realism and immersion to the next level.
2K Sports has completely overhauled the MyPlayer game mode, incorporating expanded skill trees and a redesigned equipment progression system. This gives players greater control over their MyPlayer career and the equipment they use, with upgrades available through training and pre-tournament events.
With pre-orders now available, there are three versions of the game to consider: the Standard version, Deluxe Edition, and Legend Edition, each offering unique benefits. The Standard version includes only the base game. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, up to seven days of early access, the Birdie Pack, the Starter Pack, and the Extra Butter x Adidas Pack, each featuring various in-game items.
The Extra Butter x Adidas Pack also introduces Christopher McDonald as a playable character, reprising his role as Shooter McGavin from the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2. Finally, the Legend Edition includes everything from the Deluxe Edition, plus the Sun Day Red Pack, the Malbon Bucket Ball Pack, and the PGA Tour 2K25 Member’s Pass.
PGA Tour 2K25 is set to launch on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
