Creative design director, Eric Medalle, who worked on numerous Pokemon games, passed away this last Sunday when a large douglas fir landed on his SUV during a windstorm.

He was taking his daughter for a drive through Seward park in Seattle when around 1:30 a large tree fell on their vehicle. Whether it was driving or parked is unknown but Medalle died on the scene while his daughter was rescued by a woman who pulled the girl out from the backseat. The girl was rushed to hospital but only suffered minor injuries.
Medalle worked as a designer at the Pokemon Company and has produced work for many of the games as well as producing logos for the trading card game.
