In their inaugural upfront presentation, where new series and renewals were announced for Prime Video, the company revealed new projects, including a live-action Spider-Man Noir project.

At Prime Video’s inaugural upfront, they revealed information regarding many upcoming new and renewed series happening on the Amazon streaming service. The presentation led with a new Rings of Power season two teaser and, more surprisingly, an exciting Spider-Man Noir announcement. Noir is a live-action series based on the reimagining of the classic Spider-Man story that was released as part of Marvel Comics 2009 ‘Marvel Noir’ alternate universe run.

Noir tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s only superhero. Of course, Noir‘s cast will be led by Nicolas Cage as the main character, with Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes, with Oren Uziel and Steven Lightfoot serving as showrunners. Aside from the initial announcement and the main character, nothing else was revealed on Noir at the Prime Video Upfront, but CGMagazine will keep readers updated on the series when more info presents itself.

Following the teaser trailer for Prime Video’s newest exclusive, Cross, based on the James Patterson series of novels featuring the detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, the series received news that it will get a second season. Audiences will note that season one has not even dropped yet.

Creator and Showrunner of Cross, Ben Watkins, said, “Getting a Season 2 pick-up before our first season even drops is a huge testament and vote of confidence in the amazing work that our crew, cast, directors, writers and production team have delivered thus far. It’s also a direct result of the unwavering support bestowed upon us by Prime Video and our producing partners at Paramount TV Studios, Skydance and James Patterson Entertainment. I am grateful for all of the above and can’t wait to run it back even bigger and better.”

Cross will launch sometime in 2024.

Showrunner Kripke said, “The Boys could be the best job I’ll ever have. What other show allows me to write about politics, capitalism, family, and exploding genitalia, though not in that order,” expressing his gratitude for the show receiving the fifth season.
