The biggest improvement that the PS5 Pro has received is the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which enhances the image clarity on 4K TVs using AI-enhanced resolution. The console performance has also been optimized to reach higher and consistent frame rates with support for 60Hz and 120Hz displays, plus Advanced Ray Tracing for next-level realism with ray-traced reflection, shadows, and high-quality global illumination.

Alongside the release of PS5 Pro, Sony has shared tips for players to adjust to the new console. To help set up the console, here are some big tips that are worth checking out:

  • Transferring your data from PS4/PS4 Pro and PS5 to PS5 Pro:
    • Be sure to update your consoles to the latest firmware. After updating everything, sign in on your PlayStation Network account on both consoles, and you can transfer your data and games downloaded to your console’s hard drive or SSD, save data, and select console settings if both consoles are connected to the same network. To upload everything to your PS5 Pro, go to Settings> System > System Software, and select Data transfer, then continue the instruction on screen.
  • Pair the PS5 Pro with the PlayStation App:
    • With the apps, you can download games while away from home, manage the console storage, and start a game on the app so you are ready to pick up the controller and play.
  • Astro’s Playroom:
    • A must-play game to help players learn about the DualSense wireless controller’s immersive feature while being introduced to the Team ASOBI fun platform franchise. Astro’s Playroom comes pre-installed for every PS5 and PS5 Pro.
