It is August, so that means it is time for Samsung to give us a look at the latest from the Galaxy range of products. Pushing forward with foldables, Samsung has improved their phones to give people what they want, making the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 even more exciting options for people that demand their devices go above and beyond.

Starting with Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung has improved almost everything, making it a more attractive, and less delicate option for people. Firstly, the Z Fold3 feels much lighter and sleeker compared to the Fold2, and now only weighs 271g compared to last year’s model at 282g. With this decrease in heft, also comes a stunning 6.2-inch AMOLED 2XZ display that offers a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, with a resolution of 2268×832 and a PPI of 387.

Stepping things up in specs, the Fold3 boasts IPX8 water resistance, so you no longer need to worry about being caught in the rain. Also, it now offers Gorilla Glass Victus and an Armour Aluminum shell making it feel like a less delicate device. The Z Fold3 will come in three colours, Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. This year will also usher in an S-Pen that works with both the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, with both a Bluetooth edition and a no Bluetooth edition for all your drawing on the go needs.

“Samsung has improved all the cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold3 compared to last year’s device…”

If that were not enough, Samsung has improved all the cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold3 compared to last year’s device, now offering a triple rear camera setup with 12MP ultra-wide (F2.2, FOV 230-degrees), 12MP Wide Angle (F1.8, OIS, FOV 83-degrees), and a 12MP telephoto (F2.4,OIS,FOV 45-degrees) with 2X optical and 10X optical zoom. Even the front camera has gotten some improvements with a 10MP F2.2 cover camera, and a 4MP F1.8 undercover camera for all your selfie needs. To make things more fun, Samsung now will hide the undercover selfie camera, taking less screen real estate when not in use.

Combined with a 4400mAh battery, 12GB RAM, storage offerings of 256GB and 512GB, and all the other features you come to expect from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold3 is looking to be a very exciting phone.

Samsung did not stop there, the Galaxy Z Flip3 is looking very impressive in its own right. The new Z Flip3 features a much more usable outer screen, now with a 1.9-inch 260×512 AMOLED display compared to last years 1.1. It is now possible to do small tasks on the screen, making it a much more refined experience.

“Compared to the original Flip, the Galaxy Z Flip3 is just all around more usable in the long run.”

Samsung has also streamlined the phone overall, the new Flip3 is now 72.2×86.4×17.1 -15.9 mm and 72.2 x 166 x 6.9 mm unfolded, and only 183g. Compared to the original Flip, the Galaxy Z Flip3 is just all around more usable in the long run. The slight click you get when you close the phone is reminiscent of classic flip phones, and that is a very good thing.

The new Z Flip3 will feature a 10MP F2.4 front camera, and Dual Rear cameras featuring a 12MP F2.2 Ultra Wide, and a 12MP F1.8 Wide-angle shooter. The phone will feature Armor Aluminum, Gorilla Glass Victus, is now IPX8 certified, and has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLDEC 2X 2640 x 1080 display with a 120HZ adaptive refresh rate. The Z Flip3 will come in a range of colours, including Cream, Green, Lavender, Phantom Black, with Gray, White and Pink being Samsung.com exclusives.

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Fold3 will be launching August 27th and will cost $1,259.99 CAD and $2,269.99 CAD respectively.
