Update 19, the latest content update and patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now live, for PC players.
One of the biggest and welcome additions to the game comes in the form of bullet penetration — players will now be able to shoot through appendages, meaning, players will be able to get better shots that otherwise may have been blocked due to an arm or leg getting in the way of the oncoming fire.
Update 19 will now make sure that as long as the damage was done in the same area of a bigger target, the area that sustains more damage will be taken into account, in other words: a bullet will still do headshot damage, even if the target enemy is blocking with their hands.
Another small change includes a brand-new dynamic weather system that brings with it chances of random rain and fog to spawn in during a match, giving the game a slightly more realistic and more interesting way to play.
Finally, several new houses have been populated in what was once barren land within the Erangel map in PUBG. Obviously, this means players will now have more places to hide, look for loot and engage with other players in. Overall, update 19 isn’t anything too groundbreaking, however, it does add some nice QoL improvements that longtime fans of the battle royale game will be able to appreciate.
