After producing many fan-favourite films, Robert Rodriguez has launched a new film studio, Brass Knuckle Films, which will give fans a final say.
Rodriguez is known for producing fan-favourite projects across both film and television. Today, he announced Brass Knuckle Films, a new indie film studio that aims to give fans more influence over the films it produces. The new filmmaking initiative will recruit fans as investors, allowing them to be involved in the production process. It is even possible that some fan-submitted film ideas could make it to the silver screen. The video announcing the new studio was posted by Rodriguez on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), and it can be seen below.
Robert Rodriguez says, “Announcing Brass Knuckle Films: an investable slate of action films where, for the first time, I’ll develop my next set of movies with you—action film fans—as real co-investors and collaborators. Action fans can finally get a piece of the action,” regarding the new indie film venture.
Rodriguez says fans will be able to invest in his films created by the new studio and share in the profits from each film alongside him. Investor perks are numerous, with fans who join even being allowed to pitch Rodriguez film ideas.
Rodriguez continues, “I’ll choose the winner and will develop the idea as one of the films in this slate—so you won’t just be an investor, but a co-creator. This can be your big chance!”
Rodriguez also says those who join Brass Knuckle Films early will “bypass the first selection round and be able to send me your story pitch by video.” Investors can submit a movie concept for review by Troublemaker Studios, and 10 finalists will be selected to pitch their concepts directly to Rodriguez. He will then choose which film goes into production based on originality and market potential.
In another statement, Rodriguez mentions the exorbitant costs of modern film production and says, “With Brass Knuckle Films, we have a chance to rewrite the rules—giving fans the opportunity not just to watch, but to get a piece of the action. It’s exciting to continue to create high-energy films for the people who love them, while now being able to offer direct access to the filmmaking process at such a monumental time for Texas film.”
