So Rodea the Sky Soldier is set for its North American launch, but not a lot is really known about the game. Thankfully, publisher Kadokawa Shoten has released some gameplay footage to get people amped.
It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a Yuji Naka title. And by that I mean, a whole game based off of Sonic’s homing attack. There’s a bit of a twist here though, during this footage, it appears the player controls a bit of a curser, which allows for players to move in other directions instead of an auto lock to make everything more free flowing. It’s kind of a look into what Sonic might have been if he was still in charge of the blue blur.
The game just reeks of Naka’s past though. That’s not a bad thing though. It looks like this could be the ultimate cross between NiGHTS and Sonic the Hedgehog. And that’s pretty okay.
Rodea the Sky Soldier is set for a North American release this September exclusively on Nintendo consoles.
