Streaming has quickly come the defacto way for many people to access the media they love. From HBO Go, to Netflix, streaming services and the streaming devices you watch them with have become the way for cord cutters to enjoy media, without the pesky need for cable or satellite. Today Roku announce the inevitable release of their new Streaming Stick+, the first streaming stick to allow 4K streaming.

Launching May 1, 2018 in Canada, the Roku Streaming Stick+ the first way for people that want the visual fidelity of 4K but don’t want a big box near there TV. The small stick fits snuggly behind most modern TV’s and is powered by USB. It comes packed with a quad-core processor and an innovative in-cord antenna that ensures you get the best signal possible, even behind your new 60” 4K OLED TV.

“The Roku Streaming Stick+ is the best streaming stick we have ever made,” said Chas Smith, general manager of Roku TV and Players. “It is packed with power, and features a remote that controls both TV volume and power. It also includes voice search on the remote for consumers to quickly discover new entertainment to watch.”

The Roku Streaming Stick+ comes with all the great features that make the Roku band synonymous with streaming. With access to all 5,000+ channels, and all the movies and TV it that offers, the Roku Streaming Stick+ should be a great addition to any new 4K TV.

With the new Roku OS 8.1, the Roku app allows Multi-user Private Listening to allow many people to tune in with their headphones and watch a movie, without waking anyone in the house. A great addition for late night viewing, or if you just want to ensure you don’t want to disturb another member of the household.

The Roku Streaming Stick+ is set to launch in Canada on May 1, and will retail for an MSRP of $90 CAD.
