Ever found yourself wanting to take yet another picture of your furry friend just to be left whimpering at yet another disastrous “Low memory” warning? We’ve all been there, but thanks to blazing advancements in technology, SanDisk may just have a solution to our first world problem.
During today’s Mobile World Congress, memory-centred company SanDisk announced two new microSD cards that left those of us already impressed by Samsung’s 1TB Galaxy S10 with an even wider-opened jaws: a 512GB option, and a most amusing 1TB microSD card.
But I’m sure that the “with great power comes great responsibility” equivalent of the microSD world must be “With great memory comes great speed” because according to The Verge, SanDisk’s new 1TB memory cards can reach a whopping 160MB/s, being one of the fastest microSD memories ever released.
In case you – for reasons we won’t question – find yourself needing a 1TB microSD card however, be prepared to pay quite a premium for one. As it stands SanDisk plans to release its 1TB and 512GB microSD cards for $449.99 and $199.99 respectively, with both models slated for an April release worldwide.
