On Tuesday, Ryan Reynolds broke the news the team of Deadpool & Wolverine is teaming up again with Director Shawn Levy in a new non-Marvel film written by Reynolds.
On Tuesday during the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast, actor Ryan Reynolds revealed that he is working hard on a new film set to star himself and Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman. To add fuel to the film’s hype, Reynolds has also revealed Deadpool & Wolverine Director Shawn Levy will be helming the film as Director. Reynolds has also confirmed the film will not be related or connected to Marvel.

Ryan Reynolds said, “I’m spending the year writing,” adding, “I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] to do that is not Marvel,” during a podcast episode, as reported by Variety. While it has been revealed that Reynolds and Jackman will star in the film, with Levy directing, all other details about the project remain under wraps.
Reynolds confirmed he will be taking on writing duties for the next 12 months, hinting at an unexpected project showcasing his and Jackman’s on-screen chemistry. Reynolds posted a photo of the three together on his official X account (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, which can be seen below.
Reynolds and Jackman have collaborated on several occasions, beginning with swapping advertisements for Aviation Gin and Laughing Man Coffee and leading up to their roles in the latest Deadpool & Wolverine Marvel film. Reynolds is also well-acquainted with director Shawn Levy; this will mark the third project the two have worked on together, following Free Guy and the Marvel team-up.
With only Reynolds’ podcast announcement available so far, fans will need to wait patiently for more information on the upcoming project.
