The Sweater Love Holiday Fundraising Campaign is back, and Samsung Canada is teaming up with the SickKids Foundation for the third year in a row.
The SickKids Foundation is returning with the annual Sweater Love fundraiser, including Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds donning his ugly sweater regalia, in a charity event that sees Samsung Canada match donations given. Samsung promises to match donations given to the fundraiser by midnight December 24, up to a total of $100,000. A video featuring Reynolds and fellow Canadian actor Seth Rogen as the titular sweater promoting the fundraiser and its mission can be seen below.
Senior Director of Corporate Marketing and Citizenship of Samsung Canada, Jennifer Groh said, “We’re incredibly proud to step up once again to support critical fundraising for SickKids this holiday season,” with “Thank you to all Canadians who come together to support this important cause, which makes an unparalleled impact in helping children and families get the help they need every day,” regarding their longstanding partnership with the SickKids Foundation.
The SickKids Foundation mission statement is as follows: “We believe fighting for the health and wellbeing of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society. Our mission is to inspire communities to invest in health and scientific advances to improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world”—an honourable goal for the holiday season.
Samsung Canada has also upped the ante on their donation matching, as they promise “over the course of the campaign, Samsung will also donate $1 for every purchase made online at Samsung.com, up to a maximum of $10,000,” in regards to the massive fundraising campaign.
To get involved, fans can swing over to the SickKids Foundation donation page, or they can simply indulge friends (or themselves) in solid Samsung Canada branded gifts for the holiday season to have Samsung donate for you.
