Samsung has finally unpacked all of its latest tech in Seoul, South Korea, at its first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, which included improved foldables.
At its inaugural Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea, Samsung unveiled its next generation of flagship foldables, with the improved Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Samsung wasn’t finished yet, and they also pulled back the curtain on the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series and the Galaxy Tab Ultra. New Samsung Galaxy Foldables – Z Fold 5 & Z Flip 5
First off, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the latest flip smartphone to come out of the Galaxy catalogue. This time around, Samsung has introduced a larger 3.4-inch cover over its Z Flip 4 predecessor’s 1.9-inch, adding almost double the size. The outer display can also run apps to boot, and is quite powerful with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Also, those who choose to snag a Z Flip 5 will notice a new hinge design for a fold that fits better in your hand.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event also brought the Z Fold 5 in tow, the company’s latest flagship foldable smartphone with notable improvements over its predecessor, the Z Fold 4. The main difference is the device’s new flex hinge that showcases the display more efficiently. The overall size is 40% thinner than the Z Fold 4, and it comes with an updated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset over the previous Gen 1 chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 256GB model is available in Mint, Graphite, Cream and Lavender for a starting retail price of $1,299.99 CAD, while the 512GB model is available for $1,459.99 CAD. Samsung Store-exclusive colourways are also available.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 256GB model is available in Icy Blue, Phantom Black and Cream for a starting retail price of $2,399.99 CAD, while the 512GB model is available for $2,559.99 CAD. A Samsung Store exclusive size increase will also be made available, with 1TB starting at $2,879.99.
