After her absence in Scream VI, Neve Campbell is returning to end the killing (once again) in a team-up with her daughter in Scream 7, and some familiar faces will make an appearance.
Following the success of Scream VI, the seventh installment was announced in August 2023, and that announcement has finally turned into a first trailer. In the anticipated first official trailer for Scream 7, Neve Campbell reprises her role as Sidney Prescott, and the iconic “Hello Sidney,” is heard in the trailer. It will be her first time back in the cast of the slasher film franchise since 2022’s Scream. The first trailer has been released, and it can be seen below, showcasing Prescott’s return with a new character in tow, her daughter Tatum (played by Isabel May).
Scream 7 is directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the scripts for the original Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4. The seventh installment will follow Sidney’s storyline as a mom. Campbell returns as the lead after being absent in Scream VI, and she wasn’t in that film due to an ugly salary dispute. Another returning character to the franchise is the ever-determined reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), who survived a brutal attack from Ghostface in Scream VI, and is seen in the new trailer briefly.

Also set to reprise their roles in the iconic slasher franchise are co-Ghostface actors, Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich, who played both Stu Macher and Billy Loomis in the first movie. Newcomers to the franchise include Joel McHale, Anna Camp, McKenna Grace, Isabel May, Michelle Randolph, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Jimmy Tatro, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann and Sam Rechner. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega (who starred as survivors in Scream VI) aren’t returning for the seventh installment.
Scream 7 is set to land in theatres on February 27, 2026.
