Since the release of the first Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, fans have been wondering how dark it gets for Peter Parker, and judging from the second trailer, he goes feral.
The internet has been fired up lately about everything Spider-Man. From Nicolas Cage’s take on Spider-Noir (and his admissions while drunk), to Magic: The Gathering unleashing the Spider-Verse onto its tabletop plane, it appears spider-fever has taken over the world. In the middle of this takeover, Sony Pictures and Marvel have uncorked the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and following in the footsteps of the first trailer, the new look shows a desperate Peter Parker (forgotten by the events of No Way Home) who is mutating in a more primal way. The action-packed trailer can be seen below.
It has been a long five-year gap since the multiversal theatrics of No Way Home brought together three separate Peter Parkers to fight their biggest adversaries. Following those events, almost everyone’s memories have been wiped, and many people who once knew Peter and his secret identity no longer know him. This includes his closest friends completely forgetting about the hero, which has made Brand New Day sound like a very optimistic film, but the trailer shows anything but that.
Peter Parker, who is now isolated from everyone (aside from The Hulk and The Punisher), is going through what appears to be Spider-puberty, and he is now able to sling webs from his wrist like Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of the hero in 2000. Unlike the first trailer, where Peter donned black eyes (he still does against Scorpion), the second trailer shows the immense power Spider-Man now has.
During one scene, Spider-Man is seen slamming Scorpion into a police cruiser without effort (and without reservations). In another scene against a group of deadly adversaries, Spider-Man unleashes the live-action film equivalent of the special Marvel vs. Capcom 2 move, Ultimate Spider, tying up the group of enemies by spreading webs everywhere. This may be the most powerful version of live-action Spider-Man to date.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives exclusively in theatres on July 31, 2026, and then, fans will witness the extent of Peter Parker’s new mutation.
