SGF 2026: Star Wars Zero Company Releases This Summer

Star Wars Zero Company dropped a new gameplay trailer, and release date, at Summer Game Fest.

The new trailer showcases plenty of new footage of the tactical title. Coming from Bit Reactor, a new development studio that includes ex-XCOM developers, Star Wars Zero Company looks to make every move matter. It looks very much inspired by the past work of the developers, with tense turn-based tactical battles set during the heyday of the Clone Wars. The trailer even brings back a fan favourite Jedi in Anakin Skywalker, rocking his iconic black fit from his Jedi days.

Every battle and choice matters, as you can lose squad mates as fast as you recruit them. You’ll need to command your motley crew in tactical operations and missions across the galaxy far, far away. It’s a brand new, original story set during the Clone Wars, centred around a crew doing their best to survive. Your squad can completely change one minute to the next, including the likes of robots, Mandalorians, and even Jedi.

Their bonds are just as important as their ability on the battlefield, as new combat synergies can turn the tide when it matters most. You can completely customize Hawks, the main character, along with the rest of the crew to truly make a squad all your own. The trailer ends showing Anakin Skywalker for the first time, though how he fits into the story remains to be seen. Will he be a friend that can join the team, or a boss battle that will test your squad’s mettle? Only time will tell, but here’s hoping he gets to hang out with my jolly band of miscreants.
