Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2025) is no stranger to major game announcements, and today, Xbox came in hot with our first look at Forza Horizon 6!
Almost four years after the release of Forza Horizon 5, Xbox gives us a look at Forza Horizon 6 at TGS 2025. The short trailer pans over various license plates, signifying places players have visited in past Forza Horizon games, before landing on a Maneki-neko, which is a Japanese symbol that signifies luck. From here, we hear the engines rev as we get a peek at Mount Fuji—we are going to Japan, baby! You can see the full teaser below.
The comment section under the Forza Horizon 6 trailer shows nothing but support for the new announcement. Comments include “This is not a game. This is a dream,” with some pretty grand statements, like “The king of car games,” and the ever-so-popular, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” It is safe to say Forza players have been waiting for this one, and what better place to announce that Xbox and Forza Horizon 6 are going to Japan than at TGS 2025!
In an interview posted on Xbox Wire, Art Director Don Arceta mentioned a bit about why Japan was the right direction for Forza Horizon 6: “For a long time, Japan has been top of Horizon fans’ wish lists, so we’re excited to finally be bringing this much-requested location to players in Forza Horizon 6,” He went on to say, “Japan has such a unique culture – from cars, to music, to fashion – that make it perfect for the next Horizon setting. As with any Horizon title, we want to make sure we do the country justice in terms of authentic representation and Horizon open world playability – and now is the right time to realize that fully for players.”

In the official press release on Xbox Wire, they even included where players will be able to get their hands on Forza Horizon 6, “Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Play Anywhere, or play it day one with Game Pass – also available on Steam. Coming to PlayStation 5 post-launch.” That’s right, they are announcing a PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 right off the bat!
The game is set to release sometime in 2026, and you can wishlist Forza Horizon 6 now on Xbox and Steam.
