Activision and Sony have announced a pair of new Ghostbusters inspired by the upcoming Ghostbusters film, coming to theatres July 15.
Both Ghostbusters games take place after the film, and introduce new casts of newbie Ghostbusters keeping watch over the station while the newly famous main Ghostbusters are out busting ghosts worldwide.
The console version, Ghostbusters, is a third-person action RPG game. It will be playable with up to four players locally, but no word of any online play. As new Ghostbusters recruits, players can level up their characters’ gear and abilities by completing objectives, defeating ghosts or by discovering hidden collectibles in throughout the city. There are four playable heroes to choose from, and each has their own unique personality and play style. The game is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on July 12.
The mobile game is called Ghostbusters: Slime City. Players control a Ghostbuster and team up with other players to collect powerful ghosts, upgrade their headquarters and complete jobs around the city.
Ghostbusters: Slime City will launch on iOS, Android and Kindle in July.
