Warframe’s Massive Cinematic Expansion, The New War, Coming December 1

Warframe is getting a new, action-packed story with its new CGI trailer teasing what is to come in the spectacular new chapter for the fractured Origin System.

The developers of Warframe, Digital Extremes, are proud to announce their award-winning game will be getting its biggest, cinematic expansion of all time—called “The New War.” This announcement comes with the latest battle-filled, CG “Discover Your Power Within” trailer that just dropped today. The trailer confirms The New War is expected to go live on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

With new content, comes new quest lines, rewards, maps and more! The New War invites all players to take up their Tennos to play through this upcoming, free quest line as it takes players on a journey across 16 planets, three Acts and three Open Worlds—travelling to restore balance to the disjointed Origin System galaxy. One of the awesome facts about the trailer is that the trailer was animated by Blur Studios—the studio that brought Netflix’s Love Death + Robots to fruition.

The Director of Community and Live Operations, Rebecca Ford, commented on the exciting release, “We can’t wait to experience The New War alongside our players and deliver a continuation in Warframe’s story that we’ll be able to build and expand upon. The future is bright, Tenno.”

Since this is going to be the biggest storyline for the game universe, it will have players face enemies that players are familiar with but in new environments. However, there will be many new, additional threats—the Sentients— while being able to take on the role of iconic enemy roles such as Kahl-175 the Grineer, Veso the Corpus Tech, and the Dax: Teshin. This new chapter is meant to give players an enriching backstory into the world they may have had questions about the Lotus’ past while also offering a lot of action to pair it with.

The Creative Director at Digital Extremes, Steve Sinclair, shared their thoughts on the importance of storytelling for the narrative this new expansion brings, “This moment is the culmination of years of experimentation in game development and feeding the beast that is Warframe. Our community has given us everything to let us continue the story that is both ours and theirs—Warframe is a shared experience. With the launch of The New War, players will have a definitive Warframe experience at their fingertips, and it sets the stage for Warframe’s continued growth. We’ve only just begun.”

The 48th Warframe will be called “Caliban”, which is a Sentient-Warframe hybrid. The best part of this announcement is that players do not have to wait until December 15 to prepare for all the new content dropping. The Prime Resurgence event will allow players to grind and collect limited-time drops and can now start to work through the Cinematic Quest by completing these tasks:

●       Build an Archwing

●       Build or Purchase a Railjack

●       Build or Purchase Necramech

●       Unlock Operator

Warframe’s The New War drops Wednesday, December 15, 2021, for Steam (PC), Epic Games Store, PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
