Warren Ellis to Reboot Dynamite's Project Superpowers This Year

Today Dynamite CEO and publisher Nick Barrucci announced that Warren Ellis will be rebooting their Project Superpowers series.

Ellis has this to say about the project in the provided press release;

“I’ve long been fascinated by the period in comics that produced these characters, and I’m very much looking forward to working out the strange, atmospheric take on the weird thriller that they inspired.  Also, it’s going to be a pleasure to finally do a job through the good offices of my old friend Nick Barrucci.”

Project Superpowers was a mini series Dynamite published in 2008 written by Jim Kreuger. The series featured many Golden Age superheroes such as The Black Terror and The Fighting Yank.

Barrucci had this to say about Ellis working with Dynamite in the press release;

“I can honestly say that when his schedule allowed for us to work together, I was speechless.  We’ve been waiting for the right creative vision to bring back Dynamite’s Superpowers Universe, and I can’t think of anyone better than Warren to do so.

Ellis’ Project Superpowers reboot is set to begin at the end of 2014.
