Known for publishing Botany Manor and BOMBFEST, Whitethorn Games has announced they will be publishing Kernel Hearts, developed by EPHEMERA. Set in a world on the brink of apocalypse, the only way to save your home is to destroy God. But do you have what it takes? If you have the will, this action-packed roguelike, combined with role-playing elements and an anime aesthetic, will have you battling your way up a deadly celestial tower. As you progress, you’ll build your arsenal of skills to take down monstrous angelic enemies and ultimately defeat God to save the world.
Being a member of the M.A.H.O.U unit in Kernel Hearts, a group of an elite fighting force of super-powered magical girls, you and your three allies are tasked to destroy a god to save the world from extinction. From the base of the Tower of Babel, you will be up against many powerful enemies from all sides as you climb up to each level and gain new skills and magical powers to battle new threats that each floor hosts. Remember, defeat is not an option; you must have what it takes to fight against god to save Earth.

- Ascend to the Ultimate Being of Destruction: During each run, equip temporary skills to enhance your attacks, spells, and movement to unleash devastating strikes and combo. With many options during your run, mix and match to find your playstyle as you clash against the relentless enemies on each floor and boss guardians that rule each domain.
- The End is Just the Beginning: After each run, your unit will be returned to a lab where you can use rewards from previous missions to unlock and equip up to 256 kg of skill chips. With the unlocked chips, be sure to use them as you customize your unit and mix and match them to your playstyles!
- Magical Transformation: With the Tower curse being ever-present, it’s best not to spend too much time in one area, or you will draw attention to even more powerful enemies. As you harness the Tower energy to dispel the curses, you can briefly transform into your ultimate magical form and unleash a massive attack against your enemies!
- Squad up: As you prepare for your next run, you can play alone or with up to three friends, synergizing your skills and becoming an ultimate fighting force.
- Friends in High Places: Each celestial domain would host allies to help you out during your journey to fight god. With the allies, you can befriend them to deepen your bond and a possible chance of finding love along the way.
