Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

For all the time we spend at our desks, the thought given to the chairs we use isn’t always what it should be. One of the key questions to ask before choosing a chair is, “How long do I sit without getting up?” The answer to this question determines the cushioning, breathability, and durability required. Mesh chairs are often a good solution for someone who works in a hot room for shorter periods, offering comfort akin to a tightly secured hammock. Anda Seat, a leader in chairs for various users, aims to provide more with its Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair.

Assembling the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair is relatively straightforward, with no significant challenges. Those experienced in assembling chairs will find it a quick process. Beginners may initially feel overwhelmed by the completely disassembled parts, but the easy-to-follow instructions provide all the guidance needed.

The Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair features an aluminum base that supports up to 265 lbs and polyurethane wheels. The gas lift allows for up to 10 cm of height adjustment and has remained sturdy over weeks of testing, showing no signs of sinking. It feels just as strong as it did on day one.

“Assembling the Anda Seat X-Air Pro is straightforward, with clear instructions that make even beginners feel confident about putting it together.”

The mesh was my biggest concern but also my most pleasant surprise. The tension in the mesh creates a springy effect, letting you sink into it comfortably, as if enveloped by a cushion. It snaps back into place when you get up, and after the testing period, there was no evidence of wear.

The seat on the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair is designed to keep pressure off of your legs, promoting better circulation, by curving the front of the frame downward, keeping the frame away from your thighs for maximum comfort. The seat also has a 6 cm depth adjustment available to best support you. Even as a heavier person, the X-Air Pro is incredibly comfortable and sturdy.

The armrests on the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair are 5D, with height adjustments up to 5 cm, 4.5 cm depth adjustment, 13 cm left-right adjustment wand can rotate a full 360 degrees with two different levels of pivoting. These near-infinite adjustments that you can make help personalize the seat to your exact needs, no matter your shape and size, for a great ergonomic experience.

“With a $449 USD price tag, the X-Air Pro Mesh Chair stands out by offering adjustability and ergonomic features that often go unmatched in its category.”

The backrest gives you a lot more adjustability on the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair with a 7-level adjustment that can accommodate people up to 6’3”, putting that lumbar support wherever you need it. Speaking of the lumbar support, it sports dynamic lumbar support that responds to how you sit without the need for rigid fine-tuning.

The 3D headrest is also adjustable by height, up to 7 cm and can pivot up to 38 degrees to align with you perfectly. As a shorter person, a lot of head rests tend to push at the top of my head, often making me not put it to use at all. This one aligns with my neck and really takes the pressure off.

The self-adaptive tilt is another way the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair customizes itself to you without the need for adjustments. It is weight-sensitive and adjusts the tilt based on your weight, height and how you are sitting in the chair. This protects you from the fated ghost fall, where you lean back, and it feels like nothing is there to catch you, giving you that sensation that you are about to fall forever. Now, you get the appropriate resistance that makes a leisurely lean possible.

You can also add a little personality with customizable back frames on the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair. The back frame case can be replaced with colourful options. At its base, the X-Air Pro comes in Space Black, Celeste and Twilight, with more colours coming soon. The non-pro model is only available in Space Black. This isn’t a particularly high-priority feature for me as nobody is going to see the area you customize outside of someone coming up from behind the chair.

The Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair has an MSRP of $449 USD, which may seem steep if you’re comparing mesh gaming chairs online. However, this chair offers value that many competitors cannot match. The various adjustable features of the X-Air Pro are often absent in cushioned chairs. While lumbar supports and headrests on other chairs are often separate and secured with elastic or similar methods, they don’t always stay in place effectively. Additionally, the built-in ergonomics of other chairs tend to wear down and lose comfort more quickly than the solution provided by Anda Seat. The adjustability and versatility of the X-Air Pro give it a clear advantage over many other options.

The biggest knock against it, however, is that I tend to look for the cushioning of another chair when I am sitting for marathon periods of time.. When I am editing or working and am in my seat for hours at a time, I become more aware of the seat than I do with my normal chair.

It’s not to a point where I am uncomfortable, but to a point where I feel where I end and the chair begins, whereas my other chair and I feel like one for longer. For those of you smart enough to get up out of your chair for time to time, you’ll be perfectly happy with the Anda Seat X-Air Pro Mesh Chair.
