Monitor lights were something I never put much stock in until I started working from home. At first, checking out the Quntis RGB Pro+ Monitor Light Bar with Remote felt like it would be unnecessary in an office overrun by fluorescent lighting — but I was wrong. I found a lot to like in the device, though I still think it’s better suited for home use.
The Quntis RGB Pro+ Monitor Light Bar with Remote is a 20-inch light that pops onto the top of your monitor to provide a glare-free light along your screen. This package also comes with a remote which allows for easy access to all of its features. I have reviewed monitor lights in the past, which required an app, and not needing to jump into my phone has been much more convenient. This was the fastest setup experience I have had with a monitor light. Simply plug and play!
The clip on the Quntis RGB Pro+ is well designed, with the ability to attach to a variety of monitors. Whether your monitor is curved, flat, thin or thick, the rounded portion of the clip fits securely and provides enough weight to keep the light in the correct position. One thing to note is that if you have a dual-monitor setup — as I do — the light can’t be centred between the screens unless your monitors are perfectly aligned.

The good news is that you can tilt the angle of the light up and down. This allows you to spread the light further across your desk, rather than just on the monitor itself, bringing the light across both monitors in the process. That makes the Quntis RGB Pro+ Monitor Light Bar customizable based on your preferences, and moving the bar is simple if you have different setups for different things, such as writing or gaming.
That being said, I still feel that this is better suited to lighting your monitor directly rather than its surroundings. The same goes for the RGB light. If you have a setup where your monitor isn’t perfectly parallel to the wall, or at least closer to it, you won’t see much here.
The Quntis RGB Pro+ Monitor Light Bar with Remote caters to gamers with its 15 backlit RGB lighting modes, too. Whether you want monochrome, dual colour gradients or multicolour gradients, you will be able to bring RGBs to your setup, all programmed by the handy remote. Through a series of presses, you can cycle between modes to find the perfect settings for you. You can also turn the RGB or main light off altogether if it isn’t your vibe, or you want to use it in a more professional setting.
For those who aren’t fans of RGB, the main light bar features four different modes. The light temperature can switch between 6,500K, 5,000K, 4,000K and 3,000K. A simple dial on the remote allows you to glide between them seamlessly, and the different temperatures help adapt to various lighting conditions around you. You can also dim or brighten the light using the remote.
The Quntis RGB Pro+ Monitor Light Bar with Remote can be purchased as a set for $69.99 USD. Considering the easy setup, the various colours and modes, and the level of simplicity the remote brings to the table, I would say this is a pretty fair price.
