The Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is the latest in Wacom’s line of AIO drawing tablets, geared towards artists and designers looking to ditch sitting at the desk or a dedicated PC/Mac setup.
When I think of Wacom, I tend to think of their older Intuos line and, of course, the Wacom Cintiq line of higher-end drawing solutions, not so much Android-based devices. Enter the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14, one of the first AIO drawing tablets from the well-renowned brand. By AIO, I mean that the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 relies on Android to deliver what is essentially an off-the-shelf tablet, one that happens to be fine-tuned for excellent writing, art and design needs.

Inside the understated white box, prospective buyers will find the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 tablet itself, alongside your standard set of paperwork, a USB-C charger and the battery-free stylus. Unlike other drawing styluses, the one included with MovinkPad Pro 14 is on the thinner side, reminiscent of a ballpoint pen, featuring three programmable buttons and no extra nibs in sight. Thankfully, the housing on the pen can be undone, revealing extra nibs to use when necessary.
Like the box it ships in, the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 itself features a fairly bog standard design, with a white backing with the Wacom and MovinkPad branding etched into the material in a more subdued grey tone. The front of the device features a 14″ OLED panel with fairly large black bezels, which help give a canvas-like appearance when in use.

The screen on the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is, unfortunately, a smooth finish, which does help increase the longevity of your stylus nib, but I still would have preferred more of a textured matte finish, something akin to the paperlike screen protectors that are available for some devices. Thankfully, the included stylus is a dream to use on the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14, with each stroke and scrawl feeling precise and wobble-free. In other words, outside of the physical satisfaction of a textured surface, drawing on the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is excellent.

One of the biggest draws of the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is its OLED display, which looks stunning and has a high colour gamut that accurately gives users studio-grade colours that can help with more nuanced workflows. Speaking of workflow, Wacom have teamed up with Celsys, as the MovinkPad Pro 14 comes preinstalled with ClipStudio Paint, a program that fully takes advantage of the hardware.

Now, even if you’re not a fan of ClipStudio Paint, as it is a software that does require a subscription to use, outside of a free scribble mode, the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is Android-based. This means users will have access to the Google Play Store. In other words, other popular art programs, such as Krita, Medibang and iBisPaint X can make up the deficit.
For the purposes of this review, however, I stuck to ClipStudio Paint, as it seems to be the preferred drawing app that the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 was designed to utilize. One of the major advantages of using a program like ClipStudio Paint is that its mobile iteration seemingly does not cut any corners, offering a desktop-like experience, which doesn’t feel cramped or compromised in any way, mainly due to the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14’s large screen.
In terms of performance, large documents take advantage of the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14’s 2880 x 1800 resolution. I was able to create a 50-layer document that didn’t lag or slow down when painting or using various layer styles, such as multiply and colour dodge. In truth, using the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 felt like using ClipStudio on my Windows machine (well, Photoshop, but close enough).

Still, if you’re hell-bent on using a more familiar workflow, the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 does offer the ability to use it as a second screen. This feature is done entirely through software and relies on a strong Wi-Fi connection, making it more of a nice bonus on top of what is essentially a stand-alone drawing tablet.
The drawing experience on the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 is excellent. Even as someone who used to draw regularly, I haven’t actively kept up, so I was expecting some wobble going into the review, but to my surprise, I had zero issues with no adjustments needed, making it the best digital drawing experience I’ve had. From its thin 5.99mm chassis, to its vibrant screen, drawing on the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14″ is a joy, and just big enough where you get enough canvas to cover all your tools and reference material, without the device itself feeling unwieldy or heavy.

In terms of battery, I was able to get around 10 hours of use, or closer to 6-7, when relying on its standby charge from when not in use. The tablet’s high 120Hz refresh rate, coupled with its OLED display, makes for an outstanding drawing experience, one that outpaced my old iPad Pro, in every area, outside of the convenience of clipping the stylus to the tablet itself, a feature I do wish was incorporated into the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14.

Finally, in terms of more typical Android tablet features, the MovinkPad Pro 14 includes 256 GB onboard flash memory, with Micro SD support, Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.3, all powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, along with 12 GB of RAM. Even if you’re not drawing or writing, Wacom’s latest offerings are a more than competent daily driver for web browsing, media consumption and even light gaming.
Ultimately, the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14″ is a solid choice for an AIO drawing tablet, and a no-brainer for those who already are in the ClipStudio Paint ecosystem, looking for a reliable drawing tablet that they can take on the go.
