For those looking for an introduction to the PES franchise, or one of the highest rated football games, you need look no further, Konami is giving you a free taste.
Starting December 8
, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will have a free, “entry-level” version of the game available to download. The version will feature an Exhibition Mode with seven teams to choose from, a training mode and access to the popular myClub feature which gives players access to many of PES’ features including team building and leveling, strategies, and of course, micro-transactions.
The “free-to-play” version will also be compatible with future updates and content for the entire PES 2016 season.
Frankly, I don’t think it’s all that much to get excited about. While PES is one of the best football games available on the console market, this is basically a demo for the game, something that used to be available for most games about 10 years ago. Furthermore, the fact that they’re so generously giving players access to the micro-transactions within a demo version seems pretty shady.
Still as an introduction to the franchise, or something to give you a quick, cheap football fix, I suppose this is better than nothing.
