The EA Competitive Gaming Division Announced

Competitive gaming is a large chunk of the gaming industry, whether it is eSports or just competing online in Battlefield, many gamers indulge in some form of competition.

Today Electronic Arts announced that Peter Moore will be taking on the new role as Executive Vice President and Chief Competition Officer. Joining Peter Moore is Todd Sitrin as Senior Vice President and GM of the CGD. EA  states “As the latest step in our journey to put our players first, this group will enable global eSports competitions in our biggest franchises including FIFA, Madden NFL, Battlefield and more.” They plan to build the Competitive Gaming Division(XGD) around competition, community and entertainment.

Competitve gaming is a healthy part of many gamer’s lives and it is great to see more companies making the effort to embrace this part of the industry.
