Pokémon trainers who missed a certain legendary deity Pokémon of the Alola region are in luck today thanks to Nintendo’s latest give-away.
A new promotion in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will allow players to download a free legendary Pokémon to their game, Tapu Koko. The Tapu Koko currently being given away is the Pokémon’s shiny variation, making it currently the only legal way to obtain the recolored monster. Tapu Koko is level 60 and is equipped with an Electric Seed, an item which boosts a Pokémon’s defense when in an electric terrain. In order to download the legendary Pokémon to their game, all players need to do is access Pokémon Sun and Moon’s mystery gift option on the main menu and download it via the internet. Players should act quickly as there is currently no date on how long this give-away will last.
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Tapu Koko is one of the first Pokémon the player interacts with early on in the game’s story. After finishing the game’s main story and defeating the Elite Four, players are given the chance to battle and catch Tapu Koko and the other legendary Pokémon located in the Alola region.
At E3 2017, Nintendo announced that they will be releasing Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. As with many Pokemon titles made in the past, these games will be alternate versions of the already released Sun and Moon. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will feature never-before-seen story elements, offering a new adventure in the Alola region. Earlier this month, Amazon revealed a steel book dual pack for the upcoming titles. The covers feature the two Sun and Moon legendaries, Solgaleo and Lunala, in their new forms exclusive to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Players looking to get their hands on the new shiny Tapu Koko can do so starting today. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be available on Nintendo 3DS November 17, 2017.
